                                               REMEDIES FOR DRUG ADDICTION

Do you know that one in seventeen people today is addicted to drugs? How can we prevent drug addiction when it has increased so much and continues to increase significantly? According to research, the nucleus accumbens in young brains is more sensitive, and that is why addiction is most threatening at this age. Experts who have been looking for a cure for the destructive effects of drug addiction for some time have finally found a few ways to exceed it. It is a very difficult and long process to recover from substance addiction and return to a normal life, but there are some solutions such as medication, social support and raising more conscious generations.

First and foremost, medical support is essential during this painful process. When the body cannot access the addictive substance for a while, it reacts such as sweating, trembling, muscle aches, restlessness ,and exhaustion. In this process, it is extremely important that the person receives the support of a specialist psychiatrist and regularly uses the medications that the doctor deems appropriate. Medicines play a major role in normalizing the body's abnormal reactions and blood circulation, but they alone are not enough.

The second method is social and family support. For a person who wants to recover from drug addiction, support from family and social environment is almost as important as medical help. The family should create an atmosphere of trust, and make the addict feel that they are always there for him/her, and support him/her. Also, they should also choose their social circle from non-addicted role models. Safe environments where people feel good about themselves are crucialin overcoming addiction.

The last and perhaps most important method is education. Drug addiction is like a vortex that sucks you in and is very difficult to get out of. That is why, the best way to prevent this is to make people aware before they go down this path. Firstly, education that starts in the family is very important, so parents should prepare their children for life in an appropriate language and explain to them the dangerous situations they may encounter. In addition, teachers at school can contribute to raising conscious generations and minimizing substance abuse by providing parallel information.

In summary, it was suggested that substance addiction, which targets young people the most today

and is very difficult to get rid of, can be prevented by experts with solutions such as drug treatment, social

environment support and education.

                           HOW DRUG ADDICTION WORKS

What is drug addiction, which is a very serious problem today? How this disease, which threatens especially young people, occurs and how it progresses? According to studies conducted by experts as of 2021, unfortunately more than 36 million people in the world are in the grip of this disease. Drug addiction, reaches these poor people in different ways, but the way it works and the inevitable end is the same for all of them. Addiction enters the human body through a variety of pathways and substances and takes over over time.

First of all, in the human body there is a region of the brain called the reward system, or nucleus accumbens as it is called in medicine. This center is responsible for the release of dopamine, a very important hormone for the human body and for the events that the body needs, such as eating, drinking water and sexual activity, so when the body needs something and meets that need, the reward system registers it and dopamine is released in neurons. This is a very ordinary cycle for the human body, but some drugs that cause addiction take over the system and there is an excessive increase in the release of dopamine. The excessive release of dopamine caused by drugs eventually desensitizes the reward system, which can no longer respond to everyday stimuli, but only to the only rewarding thing: drugs.

Secondly, there are different substances that cause drug addiction, such as heroin, nicotine, methamphetamine, cocaine, and alcohol. These substances enter the body in ways such as oral ingestion, injection into bloodstream, inhalation, and absorption and interfere with human body.

In addition, according to the scientists, the faster a drug reaches the brain and affects the reward center, the more addictive it is. For example, heroin and morphine have similar effects, but heroin exceeds the reward system faster and acts more quickly, so heroin is more addictive than morphine.

Last but not least, drug addiction, which relapses into the body's reward system, increases the amount of

dopamine in the body through drugs such as heroin, cocaine, nicotine, etc. and causes destructive effects.

Recovering from the ravages of drug addiction is a difficult and lengthy process.
